This February, we bring our readers back to the past. As we move into this year, we reflect on the times and experiences that brought us to this point. That is why, for the next few months, we will be covering parts of our church’s history in order to show how they have shaped our community. This issue, we go all the way back to the beginning, in the years before 2010, when our church was young. We show not only the events and items from our history but also the perspectives of the people who it shaped, including members of our own staff who grew up with the community.
This month, we also showcase the powerful story of Saint Bakhita, and what she means to people around the world. We also provide an in-depth look at our beloved Saint Sebastian and his importance to our community as well. And, to provide us some words of wisdom, Fathers Santhosh and Pinto Paul have been kind enough to write for us. Speaking of sharing wisdom our very own class of Fourth graders helps us understand the sacraments a little better. We hope that this issue offers some great insight into the past, as well as a bit of wisdom for the future.

Like the early church at Antioch, Syro-Malabar Church,Boston (SMCB) was birthed by the efforts of a diverse set of ordinary people united by God's grace. It was their relentless pursuit and faithfulness in God that enabled them to plant a church in Boston, more than 2 decades ago.
This year, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of being recognized as a church and moving into our permanent home at St.Jeremiah's church, Framingham. To commemorate this milestone, SMCB Times is launching a 5 month series: "SMCB Church History" wherein we hope to take you down memory lane with reflections and vignettes of our first generation leaders and parishioners - young and old!
We invite all of you to be part of this series by sending your thoughts and pictures.
A trip down memory lane to those early years which played an important role in shaping the community that we are privileged to be part of, today.
