CCD - The beginnings!

On October 23 2004, SMCB launched the first ever CCD/Catechism program under the leadership of James Kutticherry and Kunjumol Joseph. This was at St. Fernard Church, Waltham.

The classes were spread out in Achan's room, basement and the hallway of St. Fernard Church. In the first year, there were only four to five grades, with a small number of teachers to manage them. Alice aunty and James uncle brought bottled water, coffee etc for light refreshments. In those days, the children would play in the adjacent school playground after their Catechism classes. The team may have been short staffed at times, but they were a committed group indeed!
