Parish Administration (2011-12)

One of the challenges was negotiating with Boston Archdiocese about the church's purchase and sale agreement. After reaching agreement on the purchase amount and conditions, the next hurdle was to generate a steady stream of funding to support the down payments, mortgage, and the Parish's ongoing maintenance and support expenses. The Parish families rose to the challenge and contributed with the initial down payment expense of $3000 per family and $150 per month through Electronic Fund Transfer to support the mortgage and ongoing maintenance and support expenses. Another challenge was finding affordable insurance for the church, and eventually, the Boston Archdiocese agreed to provide the church's insurance.

By the end of 2012:

• Our Parish consisted of over 130 registered families that made up the approx. 450-member Parish.

• We had 98 families who had made pledges for financial contributions, which was around 20% increase from year 2011.

• We had set up the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) option for Parish members to make good on their monthly pledges.

• 55 families signed up for EFT. During the same year, 22 new families joined our Parish.

• We celebrated Mass on Sundays at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM and on Saturdays at 10:00 AM.

• We also had daily Masses (Mon – Friday) at 9:00 AM in the rectory chapel.

• On Saturdays, we had memorial services and Novena to our Lady of Perpetual Help.

• In addition to these Masses, we celebrated Holy Mass in Nashua on first Saturdays every month.

• Masses for Rhode Island residents were held at La Salette Shrine in Attleboro once in a month.

• The 7 family units were the core organizational components of our Parish and continue to have monthly prayer meetings to this day.

• The various organizations that were active in our Parish were SMCC and Youth Organization.

Various competitions based on the Bible were held for the children and adults throughout the month. Joseph Kunnel, Paul Ignatius, Johnson Job and Tomy Abraham with the support of the CCD teachers coordinated the events.

Fr. Vadana got transferred to Syro-Malabar church in Los Angeles. Sincere thanks to Fr. Kuriakose Vadana for his hard work and leadership to have a permanent place for our church.

Archdioceses of Boston transferred the ownership of the St. Jeremiah Church to Arch Dioceses of Chicago and to our parish.

October 8-9, 2011 : Visit to Chicago

Major Archbishop Mar George Alencherry visited Chicago and addressed representatives from all parishes/missions from the Diocese. Joyce Paul, Jenny Fernandez and Jaisy Joseph represented our parish. Jaisy Joseph has been appointed as Youth Coordinator of Dioceses of Chicago by Major Arch Bishop.

Feb 04, 2012 : Bible Month Conclusion

Bible Month was concluded with celebration of Family Night on February 4th with Bible Skits, Bible Quiz, Games and delicious Snacks and Dinner. Abaraham Jose and Joshy Jose coordinated the Family Night event. Bonus Varghese coordinated the activities with help of Joseph Kunnel, Johnson Job, CCD teachers and house mentors.

A second collection for “Mission Sunday Appeal” was taken on that day. An auction was also conducted as part of the celebrations to raise additional funds for Mission Sunday.

The community showed their love and gratefulness to our Achan by organizing a wonderful Cultural event and delicious lunch.

Fr. Dollychan celebrated the Christmas Eve Mass at 7 PM. Mass was followed by a Christmas Pagent presented by CCD students.
