Welcome to the June Edition,
June is a time of celebration, both of happy endings and new beginnings. Here at SMCB Times, we are celebrating an important milestone of our own. This month marks the one year anniversary since our very first issue was published! We look back at some of the highlights of the past year and share what we have learned since the beginning. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for our readers and contributors, whose support made this achievement possible.
In anticipation of Father's Day, we have a loving tribute dedicated to our dear fathers and pictures from the recent feast day celebration of a very important paternal figure in Jesus' life, St. Joseph the Worker. We bring you Part 5 of our SMCB Church History. Our budding talents in Grades 1 and 5 present their Little Saints project, while older youth gives us insightful and thought-provoking discussion on current events. We have a feature by our very own Biju Thoompil who shares his experience of visiting India during the pandemic. Be sure to check out the spotlight feature on the First Communicants - 2021 as well as the Mango Milkshake recipe for a refreshing break from the summer heat.
We hope you enjoy our special anniversary edition of SMCB Times!

This year, Father's Day is celebrated on June 20th. Here are some heartwarming messages for our Dads!
Pam Brown, a famous Australian poet said: "Dads are the most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventures, story-tellers, and singers of the song". A loving father is one of the greatest blessings for a child. We all know that this statement is true about all our Dads!
When I think about my father, gratitude fills my heart for his hard work, dedication, and prayers that made me who I am today. A father bears big responsibilities and his love for his children is never-ending. He is always there to help shape their lives by being their life coach. Most people, especially children, are more at ease while sharing their fears and aspirations with their mothers. This is because a father tries to be strict and stern with his children. But, deep within his tough exterior, there is love and care. Fathers are the pillars that keep a family standing, whose love and care we often fail to recognize. Behind the stern disciplinarian attitude, there is a soft heart that speaks volumes of warm love for his children.
I hope all of you have a great time with your families on Father's Day. God Bless.
