Parish Administration

Looking back at 2015-2016, we were blessed in many ways to be Trustees during those years. God helped us with the privilege to work with two parish priests, Rev. Fr. Mathew Pothalil and Rev. Fr. Raphael Ambadan. Both were awesome and down to earth individuals with immense knowledge about Liturgy and Church administration. They guided us through these years with their wisdom and prayers. Also, by God’s grace, the Parish Council team we had was constituted by talented and trustworthy individuals that made our tasks unruffled. Together with the Parish Priests, Parish Council, and the Parish Community some of the noteworthy achievements were:

• Replaced the Church Roof

• Paid the first installment of our Church Mortgage

• Diaconal ordination of Bro. Roy: an auspicious occasion in the history of Boston Syro-Malabar Church

• Published and printed the first official Church Calendar

• Celebrated the Feast of St. Euphrasia for the first time

• Organized an outing for the Altar Servers

• Commenced 11th and 12th grade CCD based on the guidance from our Diocese

• Formulated the initial guidelines for Church Hall usage

• Replaced the Church front Steps

• Beautified the Church Premises (Border around the flag post, rectory, re-landscaping, etc.)

• Sealed the Parking Lot

• Celebrated the Marian Festival Retreat for the first time

• Welcomed our Bishop Mar. Joy Alappat for the first time to our parish

• Celebrated Dads night organized by SMCC

• Formed St. Vincent De Paul society

• Celebrated the Ecumenical thanksgiving Celebration (ETC) at our Church during the year Rev. Fr. Mathew Pothalil was the president of ETC

Additionally, we continued with the various established events such as Way of Holiness, VBS, Feast celebrations, Bible Month, Church Picnic, Rosary Devotion, Youth program, First Holy Communion, Retreats, etc.

One of our major challenges was finding the right company to replace the Church roof, since the project was expensive. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we were able to narrow down the company as well as complete the work without interrupting the Church services.

The other challenge was with Rev. Fr. Raphael’s who was well versed with his chenda (drums); however, we trustees were not even close. Luckily, our Church had an amazing chenda team to cover our deficiency (we still do have our chenda team)
