With the start of the Mangala Vartha Kaalam (Season of Annunciation), our church in Boston welcomed its fifth vicar, Rev. Fr. Stephen Kanippillil.
Fr. Stephen (Stephen Achan) belongs to the Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (MCBS) Religious Congregation. He had graced our Parish once before , when he organized a lenten retreat and he prepared our community for Easter.
Prior to joining our Parish, Stephen Achan has been the vicar of the St. Jude Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Huddleston, New Jersey.
He holds a double bachelors degree in Philosophy and Theology. After completing his Masters in Theology, he is pursuing his second Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from La Salle University in Philadelphia.
Stephen Achan has also served as the Director of Jeevamrutha Retreat Center in Palakkad, Kerala and Kripanillayam Retreat Center, Kanhangad, Kerala. He has also previously served as Pastor at Infant Jesus Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Delhi and St. Joseph’s Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Houston.
Stephen Achan’s passion has been to offer Spiritual Guidance, Preaching as well as Writing and Publishing. He loves teaching especially the faith formation of the youth which is close to his heart.
