This November, we had to bid farewell to our beloved Tony Achan. Achan was transferred to Somerset N.J. It was not the conventional farewell given the Covid-19 protocols in place, but the community found ways to express thanks and say goodbye!
The Marian Mothers group, kickstarted Achan's send-off with cake cutting and a gift as a token of their appreciation.

We admired his ability to mingle with everyone of all ages - whether playing cards or encouraging the youth, he was one among his sheep, a true sign of a faithful shepherd. Though this wasn’t our home parish, we found a place where we are at home and comfortable, especially due to the efforts of Tony Achen. He will be dearly missed.

On November 22nd, it was Achan's last Sunday Qurbana with us. The community took this opportunity to thank Achan for everything he did for us.

Tony Achan has a unique and special gift to be able to share faith in ordinary ways. We appreciated his homilies and messages to the ward group. Even if they were short, they always had a way of relating Jesus to our personal lives. For many, it is hard to connect with Jesus- but you can tell that Tony Achan took extra effort and prayer to make sure that his parishioners could know and love Jesus.

ഒരു പുരോഹിതനെന്ന് ആലോചിക്കുമ്പോൾ സ്വാഭാവികമായും മനസിലേക്കു കടന്നുവരുന്ന ഒരു സൗമ്യ രൂപമുണ്ട് ... അതാണ് ടോണി അച്ഛന്റെത് ! എപ്പോഴും ചിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, എന്ത് ആവശ്യമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ആർക്കും എപ്പോഴും സമീപിക്കാവുന്ന ഒരു സ്നേഹനിധി !
ഒരു പുരോഹിതനെന്ന് ആലോചിക്കുമ്പോൾ സ്വാഭാവികമായും മനസിലേക്കു കടന്നുവരുന്ന ഒരു സൗമ്യ രൂപമുണ്ട് ... അതാണ് ടോണി അച്ഛന്റെത് ! എപ്പോഴും ചിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, എന്ത് ആവശ്യമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ആർക്കും എപ്പോഴും സമീപിക്കാവുന്ന ഒരു സ്നേഹനിധി !
