With the start of a new liturgical year, The St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church Boston welcomed Rev Fr. Stephen Kanippillil, MCBS as our new vicar. November 29 was extra special because it was also Achan's birthday.

Fr. Stephen arrived at our church on Saturday November 28, 2020. One of the first things he did was pray at the altar.

Sunday November 29, 2020 was Fr. Stephen's first Qurbana with us as Vicar of our church. The community extended a traditional welcome to him.
Fr. Stephen was welcomed with the traditional chendakottu.

Lighting of the lamp, by Achan
Achan reads out decree from Bishop Mar. Jacob Angadiath, appointing him Vicar of SMCB.
Achan is handed the keys to the church.
November 29 was also Achan's birthday, SMCB held a small surprise celebration for him.
