Milk Peda often known as Doodh Peda is one of the traditional Indian Sweets often prepared during festive occasions. It is known for its melt in the mouth texture and rich taste, but preparation can be very time consuming.
Here is an easy version of Milk Peda with just 3 ingredients. It’s equally delicious with less than 15 min prep time.
Marie gold biscuit - 1 and a half pack (around 300 gms/ 11 oz)
Sweetened Condensed Milk- 14 oz can
Cardamom powder- ½ tsp / 4-5 pods
Grind the Marie biscuits in a mixer. You can add cardamom pods as well while grinding, if you don’t have cardamom powder readily available. The mixture should be smooth without any lumps /pieces.
Transfer into a bowl. Slowly add condensed milk as batches, into this mixture and mix with spatula. Once it reaches a consistency where it can be kneaded, smear your hands with ghee and start kneading. The mixture should be chappathi dough consistency- not too hard or loose. You should be able to make it into small balls/desired shape. I used a toothpick to make designs as seen in the picture. You can use fondant cutters or silicone molds as well.
These will stay in the room temperature for a week - if your kids can resist them 😋
