Alice Kutticherry (Alice Aunty) is a long-standing parishioner who has always worked towards establishing and serving our community at Syro Malabar Church Boston. After decades of leadership in various roles, Alice Aunty has decided to step down from her role as President of Marian Mothers group. Through the years, many of us have had memorable experiences of working alongside Alice Aunty. Here, we bring you some of those memories!
Fr. Stephen Kanippallil
Alice Aunty is a very loving and caring lady. Aunty always tries to uphold her faith. Pleasant smiles seemed motherly concern.
Fr. Varghese Naikkamparambil
Hi Alice,
I am very happy to write these few lines on behalf of your great works you have done for the growth of the SyroMalabar Parish in Boston.
In the infancy period of the Church, I was appreciated there as the Parish Priest. With much gratitude, I remember your valuable services to the Parish. Really you were working as an Apostle to gather the members of our community spread out near and far to one family of SyroMalabar Church. You were a great help for me to move around Boston for visiting and knowing about our people by which to bring them to the Lord. So I highly appreciated your great Missionary Task to protect and guide the members of our community for the growth of SyroMalabar Parish in Boston. May God Bless you abundantly with good health and long life.
With sweet memories,
Fr. Pinto Paul
Alice Chechi is an icon of availability, love, integrity, care, and empathy. She is always available for anyone in need. She always cares with love, be it her neighbors who come to share her delicious cooking, or a person to listen to their cries. I have never seen her without a smile on her face. She walks the talk in her spiritual life and care for James uncle and the entire SMCB family. She is like the replica of Blessed Mother in enduring her pain and caring for others. She hardly talks about her illness but always reaches out to others with empathy and sensitivity. I rejoice whenever I see her. Alice Chechi, thank you for all that you've been, all that you're and all that you will be. We love you 💜

Alice aunty, you are true angel to our Syro-Malabar church community. Few people possess the considerate unselfish, loving heart that you have and even fewer are willing to give so much of themselves. We thank you for your kindness and for being the wonderful amazing person you are. We are blessed to have you in our community and in our church life.
Thank you aunty,
Anne Paul

Though I have not worked with Alice in the Syro Malabar church ,Alice is a long standing dear friend of mine . Alice is the most positive, cheerful and faith filled person I know , even in the middle of any problems she may face . She is so loving and caring and gives of her time talent and treasure without expecting anything in return . I am sure all who worked alongside Alice will agree . The Agape and Marian Mothers group will surely have big shoes to fill as Alice steps down . I treasure great memories of our Pilgrimage together to Rome and Medjugorje in 2000 and God willing we plan to go together again this year . May God bless you dear Alice as you retire from your position that you served for so long and so well .

Alice aunty is full of love kindness and compassion. She made us feel so welcomed in the church with her infectious smile. Though she is one of the oldest members, she is very bubbly and outgoing. She is always willing to help others and have done above and beyond not only for Marian mothers but for our church in general. I had pleasure working closely with Alice aunty during the time of the pandemic. She has organized and successfully completed multiple projects even in the midst of pandemic. She is highly energetic and it is hard to keep up with her energy level when we work together:). Alice aunty is a great cook and I had the pleasure tasting her many delicacies. She enjoys serving food and entertaining folks. More than anything, she has a great heart to welcome new members and pull them closer to church/ God. Though Alice aunty is stepping down, I am sure she will be there always to guide us and keep us close to Mother Mary. I wish and pray God continue to bless her and James uncle with good health and happiness.

Hi, my name is Migi Mechery. I’m more than happy to congratulate Alice aunty for being part of our community and for her extraordinary services. I have known Alice aunty for more than two decades. Aunty is a successful wife, mother and important member of our community. Many of the people in our community have experienced her love and her affection. Aunty was one of the first few Malayalees I met 25 years ago. I’m sure, her beautiful smile and personality makes her everyone’s friend. She always enquires about everyone in our family, and always takes the time to catch up and see how we’re doing. She participated in many roles to shape our SMCB community we have today. We cannot forget her hard work and the time she spent throughout. I wish Alice aunty and family good health and strength to continue to do more. Thank you aunty for everything that you have done for our community.

Alice Aunty is a good motivator and an understanding person. I came to know her a few years back when I first met her in the Church basement and later in rosary after Mass. She was as sharp as a tack and active, when it came to physical activities of Grotto cleanup. Her fragile health and age did not seem to come in the way of flower arrangements and cleanup work. Her concern for other members and hospitality in serving food were among her various other attributes. May she remain in health and good spirits. – Vinita Denis

Alice aunty is an affectionate, loving, selfless giver, very hard-working, and an excellent coordinator. Her smile is infectious and captivating. She is like a mother to me and to all our Smcb families. She foresees matters and takes care of them as the Blessed mother intervened during the wedding at Cana.. I wish her all the best, happiness, great health, and choicest blessings from above. With love and prayers. Grace.

Alice Aunty is indeed a living legend who is a valuable asset to our Syro Malabar community .Her energy and enthusiasm is just unbeatable. On a very personal note she is has been like a great mother to me. Her motherly love is open to all in our community and I’m sure that almost everyone knows about it. Her treasure of compassion is inexhaustible. I see in Aunty a true warrior ,a person who fights through all the challenges that life offers to her. She is a living example of God’s wonders and miracles. She has been through a lot of challenges yet she just accepted the will of God with a great deal of grace without complaints and without any regrets.
We really have a lot to learn from her . She is can perfectly juggle between being present in personal life to the fullest, being the personal care giver of James uncle , giving a lot of time towards her own family that includes her children and serving our priests and all people of this parish. It is absolutely amazing to know how we have grown as a community and to comprehend that she played a significant role in establishing the church during Itz early times.
Alice Aunty is like the God-mother from a fairytale who certainly has the magical charm with her wand and character to line up all items on the agenda -it could be arrangement of flowers, Giving a new face lift to the church or lining up a table full of yummy delicacies including appetizers, main menu and desserts or just simply making everyone feel absolutely joyful on any given occasion with a combination of dancing merrily -She gets it all done at the snap of her fingers .
Alice Aunty has unique leardership quality of involving everyone in the community so that nobody is left out in the service of our Church. She certainly is a very blessed individual and is a great role model to our community. I’m so grateful to have her in our community.
Thank you for all that you do Aunty.
"Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were big things."
Alice Aunty you are an amazing mother to all who approach you. You have always welcomed us with your infectious smile and open arms into your home. We always felt the warmth of your home when we were with you. We have great memories of travelling, praying and dining together. Even the elderly Sisters in our community enjoy and appreciate the visit of James Uncle and Alice Aunty. Alice Aunty we acknowledge and appreciate with gratitude all that you have been to us. We thank God for you and we love you.
" I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in prayers." (Ephesians1:16)

Alice Aunty is the best and most special person around us. She has the blend of a mother and a friend; we find it easy to share anything with her. You have acted out many roles in our church being a coordinator, guide, and mentor. Your kindness has built a room in our hearts. We gratefully remember her commitment during the pandemic, with hospital visits, medical issues and taking care of James uncle.
Aunty, your personality remains wonderful forever. We thank you from our hearts for your support and wonderful work you have done and are still doing for our community.
May the God Almighty bless you and James Uncle with good health and long life.

Alice Aunty has been such an integral part of our Syro Malabar community. What has always stood out to me is her kindness and generous nature. Alice Aunty has hands down the warmest smile ever and one never sees her without wearing it. She has clearly left a deep impression on our community and the individuals within it. Thank you for all your contributions to our community and for being an inspiration to all of us. As you depart from your leadership roles at our church I am reflecting on a quote from Maya Angelou “People may forget what you said or what you did but they will never forget how you made them feel". Thank you for making us all feel loved. You are the best of the best!

“Over the years, I learned so much from mom. She taught me about the importance of home and history and family and tradition. She also taught me that aging need not mean narrowing the scope of your activities and interests or a diminution of the great pleasures to be had in the everyday.”
- Martha Stewart
The description above suits well when you think about Alice aunty. Aunty is one energizer bunny that keeps you motivated through your life’s turmoil. Aunty always has a radiant and contagious smile. She always treats me as a kid, which I very much like, and let you know what is the right and what to do when a situation arises.
At church, aunty is a leader who initiates and motivates everybody to keep engaged with each other. Altar decorations, food for Achan, grotto decoration, planting during the spring season, Nercha during Perunnal and a helping hand for new parishioners; you name it Alice aunty is involved selflessly.
At home, Aunty is a sweet mom who makes you delicious appam for your little ones. I have to say this person has a skill to make a meal so enticing which makes you say we will never leave hungry from there. She makes sure that she has gifts for you, and you are happy when you leave their home.

Alice Aunty is known to me from year 2006 and she is very supportive to all our parish activities not just Marian Mothers activity alone but organising charity, providing food for homeless, visiting shrines and she was and is always a front runner in welcoming guests especially during parish feast and other church events. She is very talented in organizing and bringing people together in our community. She is also a regular church goer whether it is rain or shine. There is countless contributions by Alice Aunty to our community as a whole like Agape, Marian Mothers etc. I would rightly mention here that she is really a blessing for the growth of Syro community from the very beginning and continue her good work even during their difficult times and appreciate her generous involvement for everyone of us. My best wishes to Alice Aunty as always

I met Alice Aunty in 2003. My husband and his family introduced me to Aunty & Uncle at a birthday party. Their families had been friends for many years. What stood out for me was Aunty’s infectious smile and genuine warmth that grew each time I met her. I remember how welcoming Aunty was when we first went for the Mass at the Fernand Chapel. She asked us to do the readings at the mass. Aunty wanted to us to actively participate and feel like we belonged. Over the years, I have watched Aunty take every opportunity to serve God and his people with so much grace and a heart full of love. She embodies the Christian virtue of hospitality. She has a heart for anyone in need, being the voice for the voiceless and a lovely way of welcoming people into her home and her heart. She is truly an inspiration and has been a great example for all of us. She reminds me of my Mom. Her maternal heart and warm hugs sum her up and who she is to our community.

Alice aunty, one of our senior most parishioners who has the warmest hugs and brightest smiles. Is known to have served in many different roles in our community and is always willing to help wherever she can. Her enthusiasm and devotion is reflected by her dedication and commitment to her former roles as agape and president of Marian Mothers. We can see the fruits of her hard work today as we all come together as a community. We appreciate and thank you for your service and the crucial role you have played in making the church what it is today and hope that we will continue to receive your guidance.

Dear Alice Aunty, We have known each other since 1998 from the early stages of our church community. Ever since, I amazingly looked at the way you conquer the hearts of people by welcoming them to your heart, home, and church.
You are a woman with beauty, brains, and kindness. No one can beat your level of energy and charisma.
Even the days you and Uncle are not feeling well, your willpower to keep moving and coordinating to do whatever is needed for the church and the community at that point in time is amazing and truly appreciated and thankful. May God almighty send his angels around and protect you and Uncle in all difficult times.
With Love,
Shanty Dinny Mathew
