Paul Joseph has been a member of our Parish for over 7 years. He has been teaching Grade 9 CCD for 4 years and is currently also serving as DRE of the CCD program. He lives in Sherborn with wife Biya and children Evelyn and Christa.
I had the privilege of attending the Virtual annual DRE meeting conducted by the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Church, Chicago. While many of the topics were of interest to catechists, some topics were of interest to all. Here is a short summary, of these topics.

Chapter 12, Online instructional videos by our teachers.
Our church, was one of 15 parishes who recorded online videos of our chapters to help with online learning. The names of all the parishes were read out, it was a proud moment to hear the name of our parish. Thank you to all the teachers for taking the time and effort. In this letter titled "Antiquum Ministerium" May 10, 2021, Pope Francis established the lay ministry of Catechist. While we have always had catechists in the church, this ministry makes this a formal vocational service within the church. You can read the popes letter here or a simplified explainer here.
CCD Reopening Recommendations
CCD Reopening Recommendations
The recommendation for this year, was in-person CCD classes. It was also recommended to continue follow the state/local guidelines. Exams will also be conducted in-person this year.
