ക്രൈസ്തവരെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം നോമ്പുകാലം വളരെ പ്രാധാന്യമർഹിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാലഘട്ടമാണ്. പുതിയ തീരുമാനങ്ങളും നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങളുമായി നോമ്പുകാലത്തെ സ്വീകരിക്കുവാൻ നാം ഒരുങ്ങാറുണ്ട്.

പ്രാർത്ഥനയുടെ സമയം,
ദാരിദ്ര്യം സ്വീകരിച്ച് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ സഹായിക്കുന്ന സമയം,
പഴയ ചിട്ടകളെയും അലസതകളെയും തിന്മയുടെ കുടിലതകളേയും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന സമയം
50 ദിവസത്തെ നോമ്പിൽ സ്ഫുടം ചെയ്തെടുത്ത ചൈതന്യവുമായി ഈസ്റ്റർ...!
പക്ഷേ കേവലം ഒരു ദിവസത്തിൽ ഒതുങ്ങുന്നതല്ല ഈസ്റ്ററിൻറെ ആചരണവും ആഘോഷവും. ആദ്യ നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ റോമിലെ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ ഈസ്റ്റർ ദിനത്തെ വിളിച്ചിരുന്നത് ആനന്ദത്തിൻറെ ഞായർ എന്നായിരുന്നു. ആദ്യത്തെ മൂന്നു നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളിൽ പാസ്ക്ക (Pascha) എന്ന പേരിൽ ഈസ്റ്റർ ആചരിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഈ പാസ്ക്ക പെരുന്നാൾ പീഡാനുഭവവും, മരണവും, ഉയിർപ്പും ചേർന്ന ഒരു സമഗ്ര ആഘോഷമായിരുന്നു. വസന്തകാലത്ത് സൂര്യൻ ഭൂമദ്ധ്യരേഖയിൽ വരുന്ന ദിവസം ആയ മാർച്ച് 21 ന് ശേഷം വരുന്ന പൂർണ്ണ ചന്ദ്രനും ശേഷമുള്ള ആദ്യത്തെ ഞായറാഴ്ച ഈസ്റ്ററായി നിശ്ചയിക്കുന്ന രീതിയാണ് നിലവിലുള്ളത്.
നോമ്പ് കാലത്തിൻറെ പരിശുദ്ധിയിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന നമുക്ക്, ഈസ്റ്റർ വേളയിലെ സ്നേഹവും ഒരുമയും സുരക്ഷിതത്വവും ആരോഗ്യപൂർണവുമായ ലോകം ഉറപ്പാക്കാനുള്ള നമ്മുടെ ശ്രമങ്ങൾക്ക് ഊർജ്ജം പകരുമാറാകട്ടെ. നോമ്പ് കാലത്തിൻറെ വിശുദ്ധി പൂർത്തിയായി ഈസ്റ്റർ ദിനം എല്ലാവർക്കും നന്മ നിറഞ്ഞതാകട്ടെ, ഒരു പുതിയ തുടക്കം കുറിക്കട്ടെ എന്ന് ആശംസിക്കുന്നു.

Achan's Corner - A Cry Of A Wounded Person
“But He was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity. He bore the punishment that makes us whole, by His wounds we were healed, we had all gone astray like sheep, all following our own way; but the LORD laid upon him the guilt of us all” Isaiah 53: 5-6.

This Bible verse clearly states that all of us are sinners except God himself and we all need His Mercy. Inner healing is a special grace received from God’s Mercy. A wounded person cannot function spiritually or in this world to his full potential. In order for us to fulfill God’s purpose for each of us and to live to the fullness of life in this world and eternity we need to be healed of our inner wounds caused by our own sins, our genetic makeups, sins of our forefathers and the wounds inflicted by people around us.
This Bible verse clearly states that all of us are sinners except God himself and we all need His Mercy. Inner healing is a special grace received from God’s Mercy. A wounded person cannot function spiritually or in this world to his full potential. And only through the wounds of Jesus, His broken heart, and precious blood and water that is gushed from His heart can we get complete healing. The divine water of Mercy will clean us in the sacrament of confession if we approach it with a contrite heart and our Father is waiting to heal, protect and provide. It is His body and His blood that we receive in Holy Eucharist that builds us, nourishes us, to heal our wounds and insecurities, and helps us to understand that we are sons and daughters of God and that He is our inheritance. We are entitled to our portion in Him. We also will be able to open our eyes of wisdom to see others as God’s children and our brethren and accept their wounds and needs for healing. Jesus insisted Saint Faustina spread the message of Divine Mercy 14 times as mentioned in her diary. Jesus specially chose her for the mission of bringing His message of Mercy to the world, and He called Divine Mercy Sunday mankind’s “last hope of salvation” (995).

In my current role as SMCC President and Secretary of the Parish Council, I look forward to contributing the best of my abilities to all the church activities and initiatives during the coming years. We have an amazing group of experienced individuals in the SMCC group and our church, who are actively involved and are ready to help achieve our goals and bring our community closer in faith and solidarity. I want to utilize my previous experiences working in the youth group and bring the same enthusiasm to SMCC and the wider church community.
We have a strong and committed team to bring our SMCC objectives and ideas to fruition.
