Paul Joseph has been a member of our Parish for over 7 years. He has been a 9th grade CCD teacher for 4 years and is currently serving as the DRE of the CCD program at SMCB. He lives in Sherborn with wife Biya and children Evelyn and Christa.
In 2020, like everything else the CCD program witnessed an unprecedented year. By the grace of God and the efforts of many people, we were able to provide faith formation education remotely for the year 2020-2021.
For the upcoming academic year, many of us took a long hard look at what could be done. While the COVID situation isn't where we would like to be, we certainly have come a long way since last year. We are also heartened to see the church fill up with the community members.
On behalf of all the CCD teachers and staff, I look forward to your cooperation to ensure a safe and successful CCD year for 2021-2022.
While the remote CCD classroom format was the safest option, it also had some downsides, some of which are listed below.
Not the same experience as attending church and in person class
Keeping classes engaged
Avoiding distractions while attending class.
Here are our plans for the coming year.
Teachers will be teaching in-person.
Masks will be required.
Grades 7 - 12, will be in-person.
Grades 1 - 6, will have the option of either in-person or remote.
To ensure a safe environment, we will be increasing the size of the rooms wherever possible.
To limit number of students and teachers in the basement we will be organizing CCD in two groups
Grades 1 - 6 will attend 10 AM Qurbana and 11:30 AM CCD.
Grades 7 - 11 will attend 10 AM CCD and 11:30 AM Qurbana.
Grade 12 schedule has been communicated to the students and their parents.
We will be reassessing all our previous class room procedures to ensure a safe learning environment. Details will be shared once they are finalized.
