Rural Education Resource Development Initiative

Dear friends of RERDI,

The Rural Education Resource Development Initiative (RERDI) exists to enable marginalized children and adults in the Indian subcontinent to maximize their human potential through the improvement of educational opportunities. RERDI is a non-profit, non-political educational organization, registered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations go directly towards its projects and trusted partner schools as RERDI is led by volunteer directors.

RERDI's vision is to leverage research and philanthropy in consultation with the communities it works with.

RERDI is driven by the belief that access to a quality education is a basic human right. RERDI plans to develop a professional and community development program for teachers, administrators, parents and community leaders. Through technology, scholarships and training we hope to provide the resources and educational opportunities that will empower students, educators, and community members to become lifelong learners.

RERDI has strong partnerships with quality schools in Northeast India and Bangladesh. Our recent projects have focused on improving educational opportunities in Northeast India with plans to expand into other parts of the subcontinent.

We are grateful to you for your support in the past. In the past academic year 2019, we provided quality education to over 40 poor students in the northeast of India region through RERDI.

A BIG THANK YOU to the CCD class of 2019. Last year, they collected about 1000 dollars to support children at Rakshana Deepam, a home for children with HIV, in Andhra Pradesh, India. Your generosity has helped these children. Due to the pandemic, the number of requests has gone up.

Many parents are living in utter poverty and are not able to support the education of their children. As you may know, RERDI is a young (5 Yrs) Massachusetts based tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that enables marginalized children in India to maximize their human potential through the improvement of educational opportunities. We work in collaboration with the Congregation of Holy Cross, Northeast India Province.

How can you help?

RERDI needs your help to bring promising futures to deserving children and teens in Northeast India. For $360, less than a dollar a day, you can help keep a capable, deserving student in school for a year and stay on track for realizing his or her goals!
