In this edition, you can read about all the activities that the Youth chapter of SMCB has been engaged in and their upcoming events! We are proud to announce that SMCB will be represented at the Diocesan level of Dei Verbum Bible quiz in May. Scroll down to see the winners! There are updates from the CCD program as well as a baptism announcement.
With the start of Lenten season, we would like to remind you of Achan's invitation to 12 men to partake in 'Washing of the Feet' ritual. Also, don't forget to block the upcoming weekend for the church retreat!

Dear Parishioners: As announced during Qurbana last Sunday, Achan is inviting 12 men who are observing this year's Lent (Valiya Nombu) religiously. During the Holy Week, these 12 individuals will participate in the Washing of the Feet ritual on Maundy Thursday (Pesaha).

After a very successful participation in 2022, we are excited to announce that 4 members of our Parish have been selected for the final round of Dei Verbum Bible Quiz. George Chengat, Tiya, Mini and Grace Pullattu, will be representing our church at the Diocesan level on May 20, 2023.

Ann, daughter of Anjusha and Ranjith Thomas, was baptized on 18th February 2023 in our church. Stephen Achan officiated the baptism with Annu and Sajith Thomas being the God Parents to little Ann.

By popular demand, we had another Level99 youth event.
Last year it was a successful event, so we brought it back this year. There were 18 youth members who came to this event. We spilt into 3 different groups and basically had a competition on who can get the most stars.
There are multiple escape rooms that run for approx. 5 minutes each. 3 stars are the most you can get in each room, and the goal is to solve the room as fast as you can. It was a really good youth bonding experience. It gave us an opportunity to get to know each other better and work together.
Shout out to Noyal, who carried our team and was literally the reason we got all our stars. Can't wait for more youth members to join us in upcoming events!!

This year we started a new initiative for our CCD Students. The goal is to grow and strengthen our children to become Church leaders. Developing leadership and communication skills is a process and we want to start early (Grades 5 - 12). We are happy to report that students have been meeting and coming up with ideas and leading the CCD assembly.
